Jerry Bilik

Jerry H. Bilik ( born October 7, 1933, New Rochelle, New York) is an American composer.

He studied music at the University of Michigan Ross Lee Finney among others, and completed his studies in 1955. Until 1958 he worked as an arranger at the West Point Military Academy Band in West Point. At this he was followed by a private study with Tibor Serly, a student of Béla Bartók and author of a new music theory called mode Lascivus that describes a particular ranking of the keys. From 1962 to 1968 he was a lecturer at the University of Michigan School of Music. Since then, he is active as a freelance composer and arranger.

In the United States, he was known for his transcriptions and his compositions for wind band, his vocal works and its publication on arranging. He arranged music for several television series, including Starsky & Hutch, Charlie's Angels, and three for the show Disney on Ice.
