Jerzy Jeszke

Jerzy Jeszke ( born November 2 in Bytów, Poland) is a Polish actor and singer. Particularly successful he is as a musical actor.

Life and work

He began his four-year course of acting and singing at the "Studio" Danuta Baduszkowa in 1976 and graduated in 1980 with honors.

At age 17, he started his career in Poland ( 1976-1987 - Musical Theatre in Gdynia, State Operetta Theatre Roma in Warsaw, musical theater in Chorzow and State Opera in Wroclaw ). From 1987 to 1992 he had his first engagement outside of Poland, first as choral and solo singers, from 1990 as a solo artist at the Music Theater in Oberhausen, which is why he moved to Germany. In 1992 he received a diploma for opera singers ( Chamber Opera, Vienna). In 1993 he was a guest singer at the Opera Spanga, the Opera Royal de Wallonie, the Obihiro Opera and the Vienna Chamber Opera.

In 2007 he moved his artistic interests towards Iberia. In Mallorca, he presented many times his live solo program "Broadway Live Show " for the José Carreras Foundation. As of October 2007, he was seen again as " Chagall " on the stage of the theater of the West in Berlin. At that time, he played the role of "Jesus" in Jesus Christ Superstar at the Musical Comedy in Leipzig. He played the " Chagall " in the first cast in Dance of the Vampires from November 2008 to January 2010 at the Metronome Theater in Oberhausen and February to September 2010 at the Palladium Theater in Stuttgart. As of September 2010, he played the role of "King Arthur " in the Polish premiere of Monty Python's Broadway musical hit Spamalot at the Musical Theatre in Gdynia as a guest star. In November 2011, played in the TVN television series Warsaw Pact as a "wolf", and in February 2012 in the TVP television series M jak miłość. As of May 2012, he played the role of " Beadle Bamford / Mr Fogg " in Broadway hit musical Sweeney Todd at the Music Theatre in Chorzow as a special guest.

As of July 2012, he played the role of " Chagall " in the revival of the cult musical Dance of the Vampires as first cast (produced by Stage Entertainment ), directed by Roman Polanski at the Theater of the West in Berlin. In October 2012 at the international gala for the 15th anniversary of the musical " The Fearless Vampire Killers " he had the role of " Chagall " at the Stage Theatre of the West in Berlin.

Jerzy Jeszke is the founder of Jerzy Jeszke Art Foundation. This nonprofit organization helps and supports young and talented artists.
