Jerzy Klempel

Jerzy Klempel ( born April 23, 1953 in Międzylesie; † 28 May 2004, Breslau) was a Polish handball player. He worked as a coach and manager of the Polish club Slask Wroclaw and is considered one of the best Polish handball player of the 20th century. His playing position was backcourt right.

Jerzy Klempel presented on June 4, 1983 at 27:28 by Frisch Auf Göppingen against TuS Hofweier with 19 goals in a game set a record for the single-track 1st Bundesliga. Furthermore him with 16 hits and also the record for most field goals in a game succeeded. The German handball player Stefan Schröder was only 26 years later, on June 6th, 2009 with 21 goals, and 18 field goals, surpass those marks.
