Jesper Christiansen

Jesper Christiansen ring Borg ( born April 24, 1978 in Roskilde ) is a Danish football goalkeeper.

Club career

Christiansen played at the beginning of his career as a striker and then the goalkeeper. In 1999, he signed his first professional contract with the Danish second division club Odense BK and rose in the same year with his team in the Danish Superliga on.

After working in Scotland at the Glasgow Rangers, as well as in Germany for VfL Wolfsburg in 2004, he returned to his native Denmark to Viborg FF back.

In 2005 he moved to FC Copenhagen and was there four times Danish Champion and one Danish Cup winner. He was also in 2005, 2006 and 2007 awarded the Danish Goalkeeper of the Year.

Early July 2010, undertook the Swedish club IF Elfsborg Christiansen, who signed a valid contract until the end of 2013. At the Club from Borås he should act in front of Ante Covic and Joakim Wulff as a goalkeeper, but was injured in his first game and fell with a custom thumb for several weeks. After his convalescence, he returned briefly substitute back in September as a regular player between the posts and culminated with the team at the end of the season the European Cup.

National

Christiansen graduated in 5 games for the Danish U21 national team. On 2 June 2005 he made his debut in the senior team in a 1-0 win against Finland. As early as the 2002 World Cup in Japan and South Korea, he was part of the Danish squad, but came to no use. The same fate befell him at the 2010 World Cup in two tournaments he had Thomas Sorensen to defer.
