Jeviněves

Jeviněves ( German Jeniowes ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located ten kilometers west of Melnik and belongs to Okres Melnik.

Geography

Jeviněves located on the Bohemian panel at the foot of the hill Jevin. South-west rises the hill Škarechov ( Skarehof, 270 m).

Neighboring towns are Horni Beřkovice in the north, Daminěves in the northeast, Jenišovice in the east, in the southeast Spomyšl, Vraňany and Mlčechvosty in the south, Nová Ves in the southwest, Ledčice in the west and Černouček in the northwest.

History

Jeviněves was built between the 13th and 14th centuries. First mentioned was the place 1374th On the Jevin there was a castle and later a fortress. Through the valley of Jeviněves led a trade route from Prague to Dresden. The owner of Jeviněves included, inter alia, Pesek of Valovice and the noble family Buškovický. The latter sold in the 17th century, half of the village with the forester and the vineyard of the Counts Chotková. Among the Chotková a castle built as the residence of the estate administration. In the 19th century the town had 465 inhabitants.

After the abolition of patrimonial Jeniněves formed in 1848 a municipality in the district Roudnice. At the end of the 19th century, the village name was first changed to Jeňoves and finally in Jeviněves. In 1922, the parcelling of Chotekschen goods with the exception of the vineyard and the forester. 1947, a two-class school was established in the village. This was later closed due rückgängiger number of students enrolled in school and the children after Lužec nad Vltavou. Also in 1947 was electrified. Since 1961, the community is part of the Okres Melnik. Between 1980 and 1990 Jeviněves was incorporated to Spomyšl. The wine of Jeviněves is now processed for quality wine.
