Jevišovice

Jevisovice ( German Jaispitz ) is a city in the Czech Republic. It is located 16 kilometers north of Znojmo and belongs to Okres Znojmo.

Geography

Jevisovice is located opposite the confluence of the Nedveka right side above the deep valley of the brook in the Jaispitzer Jevisovicka pahorkatina ( Jaispitzer hill country) in South Moravia. To the west the Jevišovka is jammed in the dam Jevisovice.

Neighboring towns are Střelice in the north, Slatina in the northeast, Ratišovice and Czernin to the east, Bojanovice in the south, as well as Boskovštejn and Jiřice u Moravských Budějovic in the West.

History

A variety of archaeological finds and the discovery of a prehistoric hillfort by Jaroslav Palliardi and František Vildomec is a continuous settlement of the urban area between the Neolithic and La Tène period, which is referred to as Jevišovicer Culture ( Jaispitzer culture).

The first documentary evidence dates from the year 1289th At that time Jevisovice owned by the family of Zbraslav and Obřany. In the mid-14th century Jevisovice had Boček, who belonged to the Jevišovicer branch of the family of the Lords of Kunštát. He built a castle on the left side above the valley of Jevišovka. She was known in the early 15th century as the seat of the Dürr Devil ( Suchy Čert ) Robber Baron Hynek Jevišovický of Kunštát who ingested 1404 Znojmo. Together with the falcon Sokol Johann von Lamberg drove Dürr devil until his death in 1408 in Moravia and the March Field on the loose and successfully resisted against the troops of Emperor Sigismund and Duke Albrecht V.

Among his sons Sezema Zajímač Boček and Jan Dürr devil, the castle was a seat of the Hussites. 1421 conquered Albrecht V, the castle and let them grind. After the Hussite Jevisovice could again hold to 1431. From 1448 the old castle was called desolate.

In place of the destroyed castle was built around 1432 on the opposite side of the valley a new castle which was rebuilt in the 16th century into a Renaissance chateau.

In 1587, Charles II of Münsterberg owner of the domain Jaispitz was. 1619 conquered General Henry of Dampierre Jaispitz. 1628 a brewery was founded. With the death of Karl Friedrich von Münsterberg Oels went out in 1647, the line of the Lords of Münsterberg Podiebrad and heritage fell to Silvius Nimrod of Württemberg. In the 18th century Prokop Divis was a guest at the castle and it also had a secret love there. With the death of Charles Joseph de Souches became extinct in 1736, the Moravian branch of the family and the inheritance fell to Marie Wilhelmine de Souches who sold the reign of her husband, Johann Nepomuk Graf Ugarte. The Count Ugarte Jaispitz held until 1879. According to the death of Maximilian, Count Ugarte his sisters Gabriela and Anna Lovatelli Baltazzi 1879 divided the property. Between 1894 and 1897 the dam was built on the Jevišovka. This planned by Italian engineers building was the first stone dam in Moravia.

1897 sold Anna Baltazzi which belonged to the Old Palace, their share of the Viennese banker Robert Baron Biedermann of Túrony, which bought the other half of the same year. 1916 acquired the Viennese industrialist Wilhelm Offenheim both castles, and from 1932 to 1945 it belonged to the family Larisch Mönnich. In 1921, the town had 1,200 inhabitants

The center of Jevisovice in 1990 declared an urban conservation area. Since 23 January 2007 Jevisovice has city rights.
