Jewish mythology

The Jewish mythology comprises the entirety of legends, myths and fairy tales of the Jewish people. Mainly the characters of Jewish mythology, found already in the Tanakh. To many, a going beyond the biblical text story world has formed.

A major source of Jewish mythology are the midrashim, rabbinic commentary on the Bible. Some say, however, have only formed in the medieval Jewish Diaspora, as the cycle at the Prague Rabbi Judah Loew and his Golem. A collection of myths and legends can be found in Ma'assebuch.
