Jiaozhou City

The Jiaozhou City (胶 州市) is a county-level city in Shandong province in the east of the People's Republic of China. It is located on the bay Jiaozhou Wan ( Jiaozhou Bay )胶州湾.

Jiaozhou belongs to the administrative area of the prefecture-level city of Qingdao. Jiaozhou has an area of ​​1210 km ² and has 843 100 inhabitants ( end of 2010).

The independent city used to be a circle, the circle Jiao ( " Jiaoxian ").

The Neolithic Sanlihe - site ( Sanlihe Yizhi三里河 遗址) is on the list of monuments of the People's Republic of China ( 6-115 ) since 2006.
