Jiefang Daily

Jiefang Ribao (Chinese解放 日报), the press organ of the Shanghai Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC). The newspaper is published daily by the Jiefang Daily Newspaper Group in a circulation of about 700,000 copies.

The first edition of Jiefang Ribao published on 28 May 1949 under the first editor Zhang Chunqiao.
