Jigdral Yeshe Dorje (2nd Dudjom Rinpoche)

Düdjom Rinpoche Jigdral Yeshe Dorje ( Tib. ' jigs bral ye shes rdo rje; * 1904 in Pema Ko, † 1987 in the Dordogne ) was next to Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche an important lineage holder of the Nyingma school of Tibetan Buddhism and was probably the greatest scholar the Nyingma our time.

Biography

Yeshe Dorje Jigdral applies as a direct incarnation of the Nyingma lamas Düdjom Lingpa ( 1835-1904 ). According to tradition, he is regarded as the incarnation of Sariputra, Buddha s most important pupils, the Mahasiddha Saraha, the master Krsnadhara and the Mahasiddha Humkara. In Tibet, he was said to be incarnated among others in the 8th century as Khyechung Lotsawa, a disciple of Guru Rinpoche. He was also a treasure finder of Guru Rinpoche's hidden in the 8th century spiritual treasures. Düdjom Rinpoche was selected at the request of the Dalai Lama of the Nyingma lineage holders different to the first " head of the Nyingma ". Many important Nyingma Lamas were students of Düdjom Rinpoche, including Chagdud Trülku, Gangteng Trülku, Chime Rigzin Lama and Sogyal Rinpoche.
