Jihad Makdissi

Jihad Makdissi (Arabic جهاد مقدسي ) is a Syrian diplomat, who was from 1998 to 2012, Foreign Ministry spokesman. He comes from the Christian minority of Damascus.

Biography

Jihad Makdissi went to high school an-Nur in Damascus. 2009 he received his master's degree in diplomacy and research at the University of Westminster in the United Kingdom.

Makdissi worked for ten years in the Syrian Embassy in London. He returned during the Syrian civil war to become spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs under President Bashar al - Assad.

He remained in this office until his departure from the Ba'athist regime of Assad on November 30, 2012, and traveled to the United States.
