Jihlávka

Jihlávka ( German Klein Jihlava ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located 21 km north-east of Jindřichův Hradec and belongs to Okres Jihlava.

Geography

Jihlávka is located in the southern part of the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands north of Javořická Highlands. West of the village on the saddle between the Lísek ( 759 m ) and the Strážný vrch (706 m) runs the main European watershed between the Elbe and Danube, below which springs from the Jihlava. Southeast of Hamerský leads creek water to be Nežárka. Through the town the railway from Jindřichův Hradec leads to Pelhřimov / Jihlava, south of Jihlávka is the railway station.

Neighboring towns are Leskovec and Horni Ves in the north, Nová Ves in the northeast, Horni Dubenky in the east, Janštejn to the southeast, and Kaliště Býkovec in the south, Horni Vilimec in the southwest, and Vesce Počátky in the west and Lázně Svaté Kateřiny in the northwest.

History

The first written mention of the village dates from the year 1356. Jihlávka originated in Grenzwald Borek on the border with Bohemia.

During the Hussite Wars took place between 1423 and Jihlávka Horni Dubenky instead of a battle in which a division of the encampments were destroyed.

In the 18th century originated northwest of the community at the foot of the Lísek Katharinenbad, which was at the beginning of the 20th century to a meeting of the Prague Society. Spa guests traveled mostly by train on the station Jihlávka - at St. Catherine - St. Katherine / small Jihlava.
