Jim Boeheim

James Arthur "Jim" Boeheim ( born November 17, 1944 in Lyons, New York) is an American basketball coach.

Since 1976, he coached the basketball team at Syracuse University. In over 30 years he led the team in the Big East Conference to eight championships of the regular season and five successes in the play-offs. 28 times participated in a team driven by him at the NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Championship. After two unsuccessful final appearances in 1987 and 1996 his team could win the title in 2003. Boeheim stands with over 850 victories in fifth place .. the most successful coach after victories in college basketball

Besides his work in Syracuse, he supervised the U.S. national team as assistant coach at the 1990 World Cup, the 2006 World Cup, at the 2008 Olympics and the 2010 World Cup. The team won it two gold and two bronze medals. At the Olympic Games in 2012 Boeheim will manage the team again as assistant coach.

2005 Boeheim was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.
