Jim Clunie

Jim Clunie (* September 4, 1933, † 12 May 2003 ) was a Scottish football player and coach. Clunie played in his career mainly for Aberdeen FC and FC St. Mirren. In 1959 he played with Aberdeen before 108,000 spectators at Hampden Park against FC St. Mirren at the Scottish Cup, but Aberdeen lost the game 3-1. Shortly after his move to St Mirren 1963 he played again for the Scottish Cup, this time Mirren lost the final. Later, he began his coaching career and started in 1978 as a successor to Alex Ferguson at FC St. Mirren. He made the club known throughout Europe before he finished third in the league in 1981 and was replaced by McFarlane. He then took the coach position at FC Kilmarnock, which he held until 1985.
