Jim Pattison Group

The Jim Pattison Group is a Canadian company headquartered in Vancouver. The company was founded in 1961 by Jim Pattison, he took it a car dealership for Pontiac and Buick. The entry into the media world happened in 1965 when Pattison received a license to operate a radio station. In the late 1960s Pattison diversified further. He took over a grocery business and got into the newspaper business. In 1979 he founded a division for Lamps advertising, 1980, he expanded into the automotive industry.

Media

Currently, 30 radio stations and three small television stations are in the provinces of British Columbia and Alberta the company. In addition, the Jim Pattison Group acquired in 2008 by Apax Partners, the British publisher who brings out the Guinness Book of World Records.
