Jingle Town is a part of Fruitvale, a neighborhood of Oakland in California. The area is adjacent to the Oakland Estuary.

History

The name Jingle Town comes originally from a habit of workers, mostly men Portuguese and azorischer descent, who settled here between 1910 and 1920 and jingled the coins of a weekly wage in the pocket ( to jingle ) to provide either their wealth to flaunt or also contributed the money with them because they did not know the banking or did not trust.
