Jiří Škoda

Jiří Škoda ( born March 27, 1956 in Brno, Czechoslovakia ) is a former Czech cyclist.

Skoda won three times in his career, the Rating Tour of Slovakia (1976, 1980 and 1985 ) and twice the Giro delle regioni ( 1984 and 1986 ). 1981 and 1983 he was Czechoslovak road champion.

In 1980 Škoda part in the Olympic Games in Moscow. In the 100 -km team time trial, he won the bronze medal with his teammates Michal Klasa, Vlastibor Konečný and Alipi Kostadinov. In the individual race, he finished 13th place. A year later, he once again took third place at the Road World Championships 1981 at the 100 -km team time trial of the amateurs.

At the International Peace Race 1982 Škoda drove a stage in the pink jersey of the most versatile driver and two stages in the green jersey for the best climber. At the end of the tour he took 21st place with Miniten 4:44 behind the overall winner Olaf Ludwig. In the GDR tour of the same year he finished third in the overall standings.

In Rhineland -Palatinate Tour Škoda won in 1983 and 1984, the mountain classification.

1987 and 1988 Škoda drove for the Italian team of professionals Alfa Lum.
