Jo Jo White

Joseph Henry " Jo Jo " White ( born November 16, 1946 in St. Louis, Missouri ) is a former American professional basketball player.

During his five -year study at the University of Kansas, where he played for the basketball team Jayhawks in the NCAA, he joined with the national basketball team of the United States at the Summer Olympic Games in Mexico in 1968 and won the gold medal unbeaten. He then signed up for the NBA Draft in 1969. The Boston Celtics selected him ninth in the first round. He played the next ten years in Boston and was able to win with the team in 1974 and 1976 NBA title, where he was also elected as the 1976 Finals MVP. From 1971 to 1977, he was appointed seven times in a row in the All-Star team.

On 30 January 1979 he was transferred in exchange for a Erstrundenpick to the Golden State Warriors. On September 10, 1980 White was sold to the Kansas City Kings, where in 1981 he ended his career. In a total of 837 games of the regular season, he reached an average of 17.2 points, 4.9 assists and 4 rebounds.

On 9 April 1982, the Boston Celtics closed the jersey number 10 in honor of Jo Jo White of the re- assignment option.
