Joachim Andersen

Carl Joachim Andersen ( born April 29, 1847 in Copenhagen, † May 7, 1909 in Bagsvaerd, near Copenhagen ) was a Danish flutist, conductor and composer.

Life

Andersen's father, Christian Joachim (* 1816) was flutist who first taught his son (as well as his brother Vigo, from 1852 to 1895, who also was a flautist ). At the age of 13 years Joachim Andersen made ​​her first appearance in public. After that, he was principal flute to 1868 in the Musikverein Orchestra Copenhagen Niels Gade. He then moved to the Royal Court Orchestra. In 1877 he became a member of the Imperial Chapel in St. Petersburg. In 1881 he moved to Berlin and worked as a solo flutist at the Royal Opera and Bilse'schen in the former orchestra.
