Joachim Werneburg

Joachim Werneburg ( born July 15, 1953 in Erfurt ) is a German writer, who writes mainly poetry and short prose. His main job is in the public service operates and lives in Weimar.

Life

Werneburg studied from 1973 to 1977 Theoretical Electrical Engineering at the Technical University of Ilmenau, where he gave first readings in student clubs. In his poems he creates a mythology for Thuringia in geology, flora and fauna. He designs poetic excursions into the prehistoric, medieval time and discovered this land in the creative conflict between Slav migrations ( the contact ) and western conquests ( by the Merovingians ). The GDR Zeitgeist he held in some epigrams fixed (Thuringian Sea).

In later work extended the Werneburg, Central European ' approach of the Thuringian Sea, at about bohemian stones, the world of the Scythians or - after the fall of the Berlin Wall - to the landscapes of Provence and Cornwall. Pulsating he returned with his work back to Thuringia ( The age of the lizard ).

This interaction led Werneburg in the works since 1997 proceeds, they address landscapes in ancient central and southern Italy, to Greek islands or the ancient Celtic Wales. An Andalusian poetry cycle involves Islamic motifs; the ride on the underworld Nil shows ancient Egypt. The seals of the years 2008 to 2013 show a paradise in the Atlantic, Sardinian warrior and a dancing dervish. The Brahmin, the Yellow Dragon, they dream; the dragonfly occurs as a director of a Noh play, the landscapes of Japan, Shinto and Buddha combines ( The Return of the Dolphin ).

In the years 1988/89 Joachim Werneburg approached to the work of the Chinese poet Pe -lo- thien ( Bai Juyi, 772-846, Tang Dynasty ), discovered him as his relatives and came across similar existential experience ( Travel to Southeast ).

The father of the author and visual artist Walter Werneburg created from 1979 to 1994 to 21 cycles of poems colored prints, which were presented in numerous exhibitions. The joint work was published in 2010 completely in the volume " The Raven Guide". In word and curved line (1997/2010) reported on cooperation.

Joachim Werneburg led while he navigated the shoals of the " Thuringian Sea ", a logbook: The copper mine fragments ( records from 1977 to 1989). The notes on the rock wall, fragments derived from the communist period (1990 to 1995).
