Joakim Pirinen
Joakim Pirinen ( born May 28, 1961 in Solna, Sweden) is a Swedish illustrator, author, playwright and cartoonist. He lives and works in Stockholm, where he runs his own studio.
Enthusiastically received by the critics, he made his debut at age 18 on the wave of new, mostly avant-garde comics for adults in the 80's in Sweden and inspired from now on with his work a whole generation of Swedish cartoonist. Pirinen delivers up today regular contributor to the Swedish comic magazine Galago.
His first album, Välkommen Till Sandlådan ( "Welcome to the sandbox " ), brought Pirinen 1983 out, but when his breakthrough applies Album Socker - Conny ( " sugar Conny " ) in 1985, a graphic novel about an anarchic young man.
Pirinen has a unique virtuosic and expressive drawing style, which is able to represent with nervous lines, detailed surfaces and varied compositions, a large amount of emotions. Human vulnerability is in his work, often doing a searchable topic.
Pirinen is the only comic book artist, whose work in the Stockholm Museum of Modern Art ( Moderna Museet ) were issued.
Recently Pirinen has devoted increasingly working on prose, plays and collaborations with other artists in the art of speaking.
