Joan Bresnan

Joan Wanda Bresnan ( born August 22, 1945) is an American linguist.

Joan Bresnan is Professor of Linguistics at Stanford University. She has co-developed with Ronald Kaplan, the Lexical- functional grammar.

Bresnan received his doctorate in 1972 in linguistics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where she studied with Noam Chomsky.
