Joanna Gleason

Joanna Gleason ( born June 2, 1950 in Winnipeg, Manitoba as Joanna Halprin ) is a Canadian actress who success as an actress in film and television, but especially in the theater scene could celebrate.

Career

Their greatest success was winning the Tony Awards for Best Actress in a Musical for the role of wife of the baker in the famous Stephen Sondheim musical Into the Woods ( German: Starting in the forest ). In 1988 it was 2005 again nominated, this time for her supporting role of Muriel in David Yazbeks ( known by his Full Monty musical The Full Monty ) Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, a musical comedy based on the film starring Steve Martin, among others. Rather unknown is that they ( according to The Thin Man movies ) played the lead role in the legendary flop musical Nick and Nora. Here she met her current husband, Chris Sarandon, know.

Among her performances in the movies include Hannah and Her Sisters, heartburn, Crimes and Misdemeanors, Mr. Holland's Opus, Boogie Nights and Wedding Planner - love, engaged, scheduled.

In addition to several guest appearances in television series, they also belonged to three years for the regular cast of the sitcom Love & War.

Gleason is the daughter of Monty Hall, a quiz show host, which is relatively well known in the United States (not least by the eponymous Monty Hall problem). From his first marriage with Paul G. Gleason she has a daughter.
