Joanna Quinn

Joanna Quinn ( born February 4, 1962 in Birmingham) is a British animator and commercial artist. Among its well-known advertising works include the " Charmin Bear ".

Life

Quinn visited first at Goldsmiths College, University of London a foundation course in art, and then went for a graphic design studies at the Middlesex University. Here she turned to the animation and created in 1986 her first short animated film Girl 's Night Out. Quinn moved to Wales, where she together with her former teacher Les Mills founded the production studio Beryl Productions International 1987. It was named after the cartoon character " Beryl ", which was first seen in Girl 's Night Out. " Beryl " appeared again in the short animated film Body Beautiful, published in 1990. In Dreams and Desires: Family Ties from 2006 Beryl was to be seen again.

One of the greatest successes Quinn's Famous Fred counts from the year 1996, which for an Oscar in the category of Best Animated Short Film was nominated in 1998. They also contributed the segment The Wife of Bath also for the Oscar-nominated short film The Canterbury Tales. Quinn has also worked as an animator for commercials, so they invented the " Charmin Bear" for Charmin toilet paper and various animated commercials for Whiskas. Quinn teaches as a lecturer in animation at various schools in Europe and the United States.
