Paulina Joanna Skowron ( born April 16, 1979 in Gorzów Wielkopolski, German: Landsberg on the Warta River, Lubusz Voivodeship ) is a Polish Canoe Sprint athlete and participant in the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney and 2004 in Athens. They will start for the club MKKS MOS Gorzów Wielkopolski.

Career

Joanna Skowron started to Canoeing in the sixth grade. Her debut in the national team of Poland she gave at the 1998 World Championships in Szeged (5th in the K-4 200 m).

At the European Championships 1999 in Zagreb, she was in the K-4 200 m 6 and 7 about 500 m. At the 2000 European Championships in Poznan she was in the K -4 with the Polish team also on the distances of 200 m and 500 m in fourth. At the European Championships in Milan the following year she won the K -4 200 m bronze medal in the K2 1000m silver in duet with Beata Sokołowska, with which it was over 500 m in fourth.

At the 2001 World Championships in Poznan, she won with Karolina Sadalska, Aneta Bialkowska and Dorota Kuczkowska about 1000 m, a silver medal and Karolina Sadalska, Aneta Pastuszka and Dorota Kuczkowska over the distance of 200 m, a bronze medal.

The following year she took together with Aneta Pastuszka, Karolina Sadalska and Aneta Bialkowska at the 2002 World Cup in Seville about 1000 m gold and Aneta Pastuszka about 200 m silver. At the European Championships in Szeged, Hungary in 2002 they won their first European Championship. In addition to gold in two with Aneta Pastuszka over 500 m, she won her a silver medal over 200 meters and with Aneta Bialkowska also silver over 1000 m. More World Championship medals she won in 2003 in Gainesville (Georgia ) with silver in the K-4 500 m with Karolina Sadalska, Małgorzata Czajczyńska and Aneta Bialkowska and bronze over 200m with Karolina Sadalska, Aneta Pastuszka and Beata Sokołowska - Kulesza and in two with Beata Sokołowska - Kulesza about 500 m.

Both in 2004 and 2005, they could not win a place on the podium with their EM inserts.

Joanna Skowron is a multiple Polish champion in the disciplines of K-2 200 meters ( 1998, 2001 ), K -2 500 m ( 2001, 2002 ), K - 2 1000 m ( 2001, 2002 ), K -4 200 meters (1998, 1999, 2000 ), K -4 500 m ( 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000).

During their participation in the 2000 Olympic Games in the K- 4 with Karolina Sadalska, Małgorzata Czajczyńska and Aneta Bialkowska and the 2004 Olympics they missed each fourth places over the distance of 500 m is only about twice a medal.
