João Ribeiro de Barros

João Ribeiro de Barros ( born April 4, 1900 in Jaú; † July 20, 1947 ) was a Brazilian pilot.

He was the first pilot of the American continent, the nonstop conducted a Transatlatikflug from Europe to America. On April 28, 1927, he crossed the Atlantic seaplane JAHU. His companions on the flight were João Negrão (copilot ), Newton Braga ( navigator) and Vasco Cinquini ( mechanic ). The four airmen started in Genoa and flew to Santo Amaro in São Paulo. They flew over Spain, Gibraltar, the then Portuguese Cape Verde Islands and Fernando de Noronha.
