Joe Gyau

Joseph- Claude " Joe" Gyau ( born September 16, 1992 Tampa, Florida ) is an American- Ghanaian footballer. The midfielder is the German Bundesliga club TSG 1899 Hoffenheim under contract.

Career

Association

Gyau played in his youth for the FC Delco and the Bethesda Roadrunners. In summer 2010 Gyau moved to Germany for TSG 1899 Hoffenheim. There he was mainly used in the second team, but was also several times in the senior squad and played a game in the DFB Cup. In the summer of 2012, he was loaned out for a year in the second division to the FC St. Pauli. His contract at Hoffenheim runs until 2015.

National

Gyau played in several youth national teams of the United States. In November 2012, he was appointed Jürgen Klinsmann's first time in the squad of the national team.

Joseph- Claude " Joe" Gyau is the son of former U.S. national player Philip Gyau and the grandson of the Ghanaian football player Joseph "Nana" Gyau who was active in the 1960s and 1970s, especially in the NASL and ASL as a striker and midfielder.
