Joe Hill Louis

Joe Hill Louis ( born September 23, 1921 in Raines, Tennessee, as Lester (or Leslie ) Hill; † August 5, 1957 in Memphis, Tennessee) was an American blues musician. He was also known as the Be-Bop Boy.

At 14, Lester Hill ran away from home. He lived with a family in Memphis. After winning a fight with another boy he was nicknamed "Joe Louis " ( based on the eponymous boxing champion ).

Joe Hill Louis learned to play several instruments. His appearances as a one- man band in Handy Park in Memphis were popular with the public. When local radio station WDIA, he had a 15 -minute show called The Boy Pepticon.

1949, Louis first recordings, which many others followed. His most famous piece is probably Hydramatic Woman.

Joe Hill Louis died in 1957 at the age of 35 years at the consequences of an inflamed wound on his finger.
