Johan Turi

Johan Turi ( born March 12, 1854 in Kautokeino (Norway ), † November 30, 1936 in Jukkasjärvi (Sweden) ) was a Sami writer.

Johan Turi was the first writer to secular texts in a Sami language (and in the north Amish Sparache ) wrote. Famous his first work Muittalus samiid birra (1910 ) is ( The Book of the cloth: narrative of the life of the cloth, dt 1912).
