Johann Christoph Kellner

Johann Christoph Kellner ( born August 15, 1736, in Gräfenroda, today Ilm-Kreis (Thuringen ), † 1803 in Kassel ) was a German organist and composer.

Life

Johann Christoph Kellner was born in 1736 as son of organist and composer Johann Peter Kellner. He attended the Latin School in 1754 in Gotha. From 1755 he lived again in Gräfenroda, where he received instruction in the art set for organ works, symphonies and concerts. In the same year waiters began composing his first cantata vintage with correction of the Father.

In 1762, Kellner has traveled through Germany and Holland, and began 1763 in Gräfenroda with the second cantata vintage.

In 1764 he was organist at Kassel, court organist in 1772 and worked on numerous compositions (chamber music, choir and organ).
