Johann Georg Macasius
Johann Georg Macasius ( born March 17, 1617 in Eger, Bohemia, † 1653 in Zwickau, Saxony ) was a German physician of Czech descent.
Life
Macasius began to study medicine in 1630 at the University of Jena. With his thesis " De natura et causis externis " he could successfully complete this study with Johannes Musaeus. Following this, he completed a second study with Balthasar Widmarcter and 1640 graduated from this due to his disputation " De inflammatione ".
They entrusted him at the University of Jena as a lecturer, a position he held throughout his life. The physician Balthasar Metzger was his student.
