Johann Ludwig Wilhelm Thudichum

(Johann) Ludwig ( Wilhelm ) Thudichum ( born August 27, 1829 in Büdingen, † September 7, 1901 in London) is the founder of brain chemistry.

Life

Thudichum was the son of Sophocles translator and grammar Director Georg Thudichum (1794-1873) of Wolfgang -Ernst -Gymnasium in Büdingen and his wife Friederike, born Baist. In casting, he studied from 1847 at the University of Medicine. In 1848 he became a member of Hassia.

In 1853 he went as a practicing physician to London, where he lived until his death. He has authored over 210 scientific publications. His brother Friedrich (1831-1913) was one of the great jurists of the 19th century. A brass plaque at his birthplace in Büdingen recalls Thudichum: " In this house, Louis J. Wilhelm Thudichum the pioneer of brain chemistry was posted on August 27, 1829 born. The Society for physiological chemistry on the occasion of the 16th Mosbacher Colloquium ' About lipids .' "
