Johann Samuel Schröter

Johann Samuel Schroeter ( born February 25, 1735 in Rastenberg, † March 24, 1808 in Buttstädt ) was a German theologian.

Life

The son of Rastenberger pastor Johann Zacharias Schröter (1699-1759) and his wife Maria Elisabeth Reinisch attended high school in Weimar. Schröter studied from 1752 in Jena theology and a minor in natural sciences. In 1758 he married in Dornburg / Saale Juliana Dorothea Graßhoff, the youngest daughter of the meat and Tranksteuereinehmers Johann Wilhelm Graßhoff from Naumburg. ( † 1763 * 1763) Johann Samuel (* 1758), composer, pupil of Johann Christian Bach, Johann Samuel (* 1760), and Wilhelm Gottlob Samuel: The marriage produced three children.

From 1758 to 1763 Johann Samuel Schroeter was rector thorn castle and also led the church books. 1761, he wrote the sermon " The great institutions of God for the salvation of sinners ", which he considered to Dorndorf. In 1763 he was ordained by General Superintendent Basch in Weimar as a pastor in Thangelstedt and chain joke. In 1768 he wrote " A lithographic description of the areas around Thangelstadt and Save joke in the Weimar ". From 1774, he was the first deacon of the church of St Peter and Paul in Weimar. 1775 to 1808 he was superintendent in Buttstädt. He oversaw a scientific Cabinet, in which he collected conches, fossils and minerals and described. 1776, he was inducted into the Leopoldina.
