Johann Tschopp

Johann Tschopp ( born July 1, 1982 in Sierre ) is a Swiss cyclist.

Career

Tschopp was 2004 professional the Swiss Phonak Cycling Team after being driven there in the previous year as a stagiaire. For the first time he let hear from him when he was in June at the Swiss Championships sixth in the time trial. In the Tour of Austria 2005, he was even just a close second behind Juan Miguel Mercado. In addition, he won there in fourth place in the mountains classification. The 1.75 m tall and 62 kg Tschopp took 2003 to the Cyclocross World Championships in Monopoli part. Its been only the second professional success was a stage win at the Giro d' Italia. At this stage, he also won the Cima Coppi, the mountains classification at the highest point of the Giro in honor of cycling legend Fausto Coppi front of Gilberto Simoni.
