Johannes Falke

John Falcon ( born April 10, 1823 in Ratzeburg, † March 2, 1876 in Dresden ) was a German archivist and historian.

Life

John Hawk was the brother of Jacob von Falke, first studied in Erlangen theology, but turned, as a tutor in Munich offices, cultural history, in 1856 the first secretary at the Germanic National Museum in Nuremberg, then in 1862 secretary and 1864 an archivist at the Central State Archive of Dresden. Since 1856 he gave together with Johannes Müller, " Journal of German cultural history " out, but was just four years.

  • The Hansa as a German naval and commercial power. Berlin 1862.
  • History of the mountain town of Geyer. Dresden 1866 ( digitized ).
  • The history of the Elector Augustus of Saxony in an economic relationship. Leipzig 1868 ( digitized ), this work won falcon 1868 the price of the Princely Jablonowskischen Company (Societas Jablonoviana ).
  • The history of the German customs service: from the beginning to the conclusion of the German Zollverein. Leipzig 1869.

John Falke has published several related papers on the history of the German economy in the new series of the Journal of German cultural history and a treatises from the Saxon history in various journals.
