Johannes van der Aeck

Johannes van der Aeck ( baptized February 3, 1637 in Leiden, buried March 21, 1682 in Leiden ) was a Dutch painter and wine merchants.

Little is known about the life of John van der Aeck. He was the son of wine merchant and former lieutenant at sea Nicolaes van der Aeck and Geertruyt Jansdr. van Hogen field. Through its artistic roots is not known. He probably came over the past his stepmother Cathalina Biervlieth, which was that of the painter Jacques de Rousseaux widow, to painting. As of May 1650, he attended the University of Leiden. On December 3, 1657 he married and he was born on April 14, 1658 Member of the Guild of St. Luke of his hometown, where he held the position of hoofdman 1673 and 1674 and in 1676 the office of the Dean.
