Johannes Wildner
Johannes Wildner ( born March 5, 1956 in Mürzzuschlag, Styria ) is an Austrian conductor.
Life
Johannes Wildner studied conducting, violin and musicology and is now one of Austria's leading conductors of his generation.
His time as a member of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra and the Vienna State Opera coined his conducting style and his music-making sustainable. After positions as Chief Conductor of the Prague State Opera (1994 /95), Standing as principal conductor of the Leipzig Opera (1996-98 ), was Johannes Wildner 1997-2007 General Music Director of the New Philharmonic Orchestra of Westphalia in Recklinghausen, which is also the opera orchestra of the theater in Gelsenkirchen. Since September 2010, Johannes Wildner is Principal Guest Conductor of the BBC Concert Orchestra in London.
He has conducted major opera houses, such as the New National Theatre Tokyo, the Arena di Verona, Leipzig, Volksoper Vienna, Graz, Salzburg, Prague State Opera and Zagreb, as well as large orchestras such as the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, the London Philharmonic Orchestra (LPO ), the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra in London, the St. Petersburg Philharmonic, the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra, the MDR Symphony Orchestra, the Dresden Philharmonic, the Orchestra Sinfonica Siciliana in Palermo, the Vienna Symphony, the Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Bruckner Orchestra Linz, the Salzburg Mozarteum Orchestra, the National Symphony Copenhagen or the China Philharmonic and the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra.
Johannes Wildner has recorded more than 60 CDs, DVDs and videos, including the complete recordings of the bat and Così fan tutte for Naxos, live recordings of Carmen, Le nozze di Figaro and Così fan tutte, as well as the 3rd and 9th Symphony by Anton Bruckner. Among the most recent recordings include three CDs with unknown repertoire of Erich Zeisl, Joseph Marx and Johann Nepomuk David for cpo, and in 2010 the complete works for piano and orchestra by Robert Schumann with pianist Lev Vinocour and ORF Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra for Sony RCA Read Seal.
