John Briley
John Briley ( born June 25, 1925 in Kalamazoo, Michigan) is an American screenwriter and film producer.
Life
Briley has become known primarily for his screenplay for the 1982 feature film produced Gandhi, for which he was awarded both an Oscar and a Golden Globe. For Gandhi, he also received a BAFTA nomination.
More movies where Briley was involved, were Enigma in 1983, Cry Freedom (1987 ), Christopher Columbus - The Discovery (1992) and The Medusa, which was produced in 1978.
He was also author of the 1972 feature film Pope Joan, which deals with the biography of the fictional Pope Joan.
