John C. Davies II

John Clay Davies II ( born May 1, 1920 in Albany, New York, † June 17, 2002 in San Juan, Puerto Rico ) was an American politician. Between 1949 and 1951 he represented the State of New York in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

John Davies attended Camden High School and then studied at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. He also graduated from Hamilton College in Clinton. Between 1940 and 1941 he published the newspaper Camden Chronicle. In the following years he worked for various companies and government agencies in public relations. Until 1943 he worked in Albany in this industry. He then worked until 1946 in New York City for the Westinghouse Electric Corp.. , Also in the field of public relations. Between 1946 and 1948 he was vice president of the company Earle Ferris Co. Inc. Since 1948, he was in Utica back in public relations operates.

Politically, Davies joined the Democratic Party. In the congressional elections of 1948, he was the 35th electoral district of New York in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he became the successor of the Republican Hadwen C. Fuller on January 3, 1949. Since he has not been confirmed in 1950, he was able to complete only one term in Congress until January 3, 1951. This was marked by the events of the Cold War.

After the end of his time in the U.S. House of Representatives Davies worked occasionally as an author. He was also active in San Juan as a public relations executive in public relations. There he is on 17 June 2002 and died.
