John C. Wright (author)

John Charles Justin Wright ( born October 22, 1961) is an American writer.

He is the author of science fiction and fantasy novels and a finalist for the Nebula Awards for his fantasy novel Orphans of Chaos. Publishers Weekly said after his debut novel, The Golden Age: Newbie This may be the century 's most important new science fiction talent.

Life

The former lawyer, journalist and editor graduated in 1987 from the Marshall - Wythe School of Law at the College of William & Mary. As a freshman, he completed the Great Books Program of St. John's College of Maryland in 1984.

He began working as a lawyer in three states ( New York, 1989, Maryland in December 1990, Washington, DC January 1994 ) on. His practice was unsuccessful and drove him into bankruptcy soon after. He then worked for the newspaper St. Mary Today. He currently works as a technical writer in Virginia, where he and his wife and author L. Jagi Lamplighter (St. John's College of Maryland, Class of 1985) and their children live. At the age of 42 years he converted from atheism to Christianity. In 2008 he converted to the Roman Catholic church, of which he said approvingly: If Vulcans had a church, they were Catholics. For several years, Wright has written regular posts on its Web site about many subjects, especially science fiction.
