John Chancellor

John Chancellor (* July 14, 1927 in Chicago, Illinois, † July 12, 1996 in Princeton, New Jersey ) was an American journalist and television presenter.

Life

From 1956 to 1970 he was responsible for the television show, The Huntley - Brinkley Report, which was presented by Chet Huntley and David Brinkley, correspondent. From 1961 to 1962 he was television presenter on the television program The Today Show. Chancellor had continued to work as a commentator for the program from 1970 to 1982 moderator of the NBC Nightly News and in the coming years to 1993. In his first marriage he was married to Connie Chancellor and his second wife, Barbara Upshaw. Chancellor had three children.

The John Chancellor Award is ( previously from 1995 by the Annenberg Public Policy Center ) awarded annually since 2004 by the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism.
