John Cryan

John Cryan ( born December 16, 1960 in the UK ) is a British businessman. In addition to his main role as Co - Head of Portfolio Management & Strategy Group at Temasek Holdings, he is since 2013, Chairman of the Audit Committee of the Supervisory Board at German bank.

Career

John Cryan graduated in 1981 graduated with a distinction and has a Master of Arts ( Hons) from the University of Cambridge.

After a first for Arthur Andersen LLP in 1987, he moved to SG Warburg in London. In September 2008, he was appointed Chief Financial Officer of the Swiss UBS Group Europe, responsible for Middle East and Africa, was appointed. In May 2011 he left UBS for personal reasons, because he had a falling out with then- CEO Oswald Gruebel. In January 2012, John Cryan went to Singapore and started as president of European operations at investment company Temasek Holdings.

Since 1992 he has specialized in providing strategic and financial advice to a wide range of companies in the financial services sector globally. In recent months, he has played an active role in advising UBS Board of Directors and the Executive Committee on matters of current financial crisis.
