John Danforth

John Claggett Danforth ( born September 5, 1936 in St. Louis, Missouri) is an American Episcopal priest, lawyer and politician.

After studying law at the universities of Yale and Princeton Danforth 1969 Minister of Justice ( Attorney General ) of Missouri. From 1976 to 1995 he was elected three times to the U.S. Senate for the state, where he presided over, among other things the Committee on Economic, Science and Transportation.
