John de Lancie

John de Lancie ( born March 20, 1948 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) is an American actor.

Life

John de Lancie attended Kent State University and won a scholarship to Juilliard. His father worked as a musician in the Philadelphia Orchestra.

Since 1975, de Lancie is active as an actor. He has played in films such as Legacy and in series with The Six Million Dollar Man, Battlestar Galactica, Nero Wolfe and MacGyver. He became famous for his role as omnipotent being Q in the series Star Trek: The Next Generation. Among other things, he also had performances as Q in the Star Trek series Voyager and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. He also appeared as Sid in Andromeda, as well as in several episodes of Stargate - SG -1 on command as Colonel Simmons and four episodes of Charmed, where he played an elder Odin.

With Leonard Nimoy together John de Lancie has a production company called Alien Voices is dedicated to the production of science fiction radio plays. Aside from acting, he is also the artistic director of L. A. Works. It also has its own drama studio in Los Angeles where she taught at South Coast Conservatory young actor. De Lancie is also starring Kate Mulgrew ( Captain Janeway from Star Trek: Voyager ) good friends. He is married to actress Marnie Mosiman, which is also in Star Trek: The Next Generation had a guest role. They have two sons, Keegan and Owen de Lancie.

In addition, de Lancie co-wrote with author Peter David 's novel "I, Q ", which is written from the first person perspective of his "Q".
