John Debney

John C. Debney ( born August 18, 1956 in Glendale, California) is an American film composer.

Life

Debney, whose father Louis was employed as a producer at the Disney Studios, grew up near Glendale and graduated 1979, the California Institute of the Arts ( CalArts ).

He is known primarily for his film scores, including a number of Walt Disney productions. So he wrote along with David Hartley and Sting the soundtrack of the animated film The Emperor 's New Groove ( The Emperor's New Groove, 2000).

Debney was nominated for his music for the film The Passion of the Christ for an Oscar and won the Film & Television Music Award of the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers. He was given three Emmy Award ( among others for the music for the TV series SeaQuest DSV), he was twice nominated for this award.

In addition to numerous film soundtracks wrote or arranged John Debney also some pieces of music for Disney theme parks around the globe, such as the haunted house attraction Phantom Manor in Disneyland Paris and the light parade SpectroMagic at Walt Disney World in Florida.
