John Dendahl

John Hoge Dendahl ( born September 28, 1938 in Santa Fe, † November 9, 2013 in Denver, Colorado ) was an American politician of the Republican and columnist. In the 1960s, he was one of the best Nordic skiers in the USA.

John Dendahl studied at the University of Colorado and started for the ski team at the University, with which he gave the National Collegiate Athletic Association title ( NCAA) won in 1959. In 1960, he won the NCAA title as a Nordic skier. He also qualified for the Olympic Winter Games in 1960 in Squaw Valley and started up the side of Mack Miller, Karl Bohlin and Peter Lahdenpera in the cross-country season, which came eleventh.

From 1988 to 1990 Dendahl was Minister of Economic Development and Tourism in the U.S. state of New Mexico. Dendahl served from 1994 to 2003 as chairman of the Republican Party of his state. In 1994 his application failed his party for the candidacy for governor in the primaries. He applied again in 2006 to this office and this time was also set up by the Republicans, but lost with only 32 percent of the vote against Democratic incumbent Bill Richardson.
