John Geiser McHenry

John Geiser McHenry ( born April 26, 1868 in Benton Township, Columbia County, Pennsylvania, † December 27, 1912 in Benton, Pennsylvania ) was an American politician. Between 1907 and 1912 he represented the State of Pennsylvania in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

John McHenry attended the common schools and the Orangeville Academy. He then worked in the banking industry, crafts and agriculture. He founded the Farmer Cooperative Banks ( Grange National Banks) in the state of Pennsylvania. Politically, he joined the Democratic Party.

In the congressional elections of 1906, McHenry was in the 16th electoral district of Pennsylvania in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he became the successor of the Republican Edmund W. Samuel on March 4, 1907. After two re- elections he could remain until his death on December 27, 1912 in Congress.
