John Graham Chambers

John Graham Chambers ( born February 12, 1843 in Carmarthenshire, Wales; † 4 March 1883, London ) was a British sports official.

He was the Marquess of Queensberry, John Sholto Douglas, whom he had met in the Magdalene College, University of Cambridge, in 1867 to win to make his name for a compiled by Graham set of rule changes in the sport of boxing available. These rules were known as the Queensberry Rules and represent the core of the still valid today Boxregeln dar.

He also worked for the rowing team of Cambridge as an athlete and coach and founded the British Amateur Sports Association.

1990 Chambers was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame.
