John Graham (forward)

John Graham ( * 1873 in Northumberland, † unknown) was an English footballer.

Career

Graham came in November 1893 by Blyth FC from his home region of Northumberland as a test player to Manchester to Newton Heath, who played in the Football League First Division. A few months before the Heathians Joe Cassidy had already committed by the same club that had the decisive role in the league in 1893. Graham convinced the executives at Newton Heath and received a professional contract. A few days later, he announced on November 11, 1893 in a 1-0 win - one of only six wins this season - against Wolverhampton Wanderers as a center forward his league debut. The center-forward position was otherwise mostly clothed during the season by Bob Donaldson, Graham came to January 1894 in the forward line to John Peden and Alf Farman to three other stakes, stayed with the three losses but without scoring. After Newton Heath at the end of the season came in last place in the table and in the " Test Match " against Liverpool, Table First Second Division, was defeated 0-2, the club descended from the First Division and Graham was not required on the end of the season also.
