John Graham (long-distance runner)

John Graham ( born June 18, 1956) is a former British marathon runners.

He began his career as a hurdler and achieved his personal best over 3000 m in this discipline, on 16 July 1978 in Edinburgh with 8:39,30 min.

In 1980, he won as a guest skater at the Spanish Championship in 2:13:21 h and was third in the New York City Marathon. The following year he won the premiere of the Rotterdam Marathon with his personal record of 2:09:28. In 1982, he was starting for Scotland at the Commonwealth Games in Brisbane in fourth and fifth place in 1983 in New York. When world record run of Carlos Lopes in Rotterdam 1985, he came in 2:09:58 in second place.

At the Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh in 1986, he once again took the fourth place, which was also his last great international success.
